The Absurdity of it All...

I put the fluffy blanket on the bed last night because of the dusting of snow on the ground outside my window.  The 40 degree drop in temp may have provoked me to do so also.

This morning as I was bouncing about the kitchen, climbing up on stools, doing 1 foot vertical leaps to circumvent grabbing a stool, I sensed the absurdity of it all.  I was armed with a fly swatter.  For some unbeknownst to me reason, we are suffering from a fly infestation which in general doesn't happen much in our dry climate even in the summer, but is even more absurd when I am bundled up in a hoody and wool socks.

This fall start up has had the same feel to it.  Absurd things happening while God wraps us up in cozy blankets of blessings.  Car accidents, dog bites, identity theft, hard conversations and more sum up the absurd things, but what I want to talk about are the cozy blankets of blessings.

I will gift you with one story from fall retreat that seems to sum up not only the retreat but fall start up itself.

We focused on the Father Heart of God and discarding the misconceptions we have of God.  One night we talked about barriers that keep us from God, one of them being unforgiveness.

One of our International students (which totaled over 40% of our attendees) has been estranged from her father for 12 years.  She has not spoken with him at all.

When she got home from fall retreat, she went to her mom and said, "Mom, can I have dad's number?"  Her mom was shocked not only by the request but also by the fact that she referred to him as dad.

She called him but he didn't answer.  When he called back, she expressed her forgiveness to him after 12 years of no communication whatsoever.

This radical obedience and supernatural forgiveness is a summation of all the healings both physical, mental and spiritual that occurred.

For everyone that prayed and everyone that gave, the Kingdom has expanded and will continue to expand because of what you have done.  Thank you!
